Dhai hai kaisi qayaamat teri raanai ne
Dil bane toot ke bikhre hain hazaar aaine
[What doom-like turbulence thy beauty caused,
mirrors became heart and crushed into pieces
Hosh aata to main ho jaata yaqeenan gumraah
Raasta rok liya hai teri angdai ne
[Consciousness might have lead me astray
Thanks to thy yawning my midsummer madness is intact]
Saath ghairon ke raha aor kiye solah singaar
khel yun mujhse kiye hain kisi harjai ne
[My love embellished self and enjoyed company of others
So that way variable creature laughed away my love]
Khud bhi khamosh hua apni tadap se thak kar
Sab ko khamosh kiya hai tere saudai ne
[He became silent due to his extreme anxiety in love
And by this sad episode thy doter silenced all]
mushkilon se main bacha paya yaqeene tauheed
zaviye itne nikale teri yaktai ne
[With great difficulty I could save my faith of Oneness
For I perceived countless facets of Thy Singleness]
Saamne uske bus ek dil ne nibhai thi wafa
warna kya karke dikhaya meri beenai ne
[Only the capacities of heart could stand the splendor of perfect beauty
Otherwise sense of sight I possessed failed utterly failed]
Ishq men aql ne sangeen diye mujhko fareb
mujhko rakha na kahin ka meri danai ne
[In love my sensibility bluffed me with grave tricks
And in amorous context sagacity made me good for nothing]
Mujhse aabaad hui shehre malamat ki zamin
iske laiq kiya mujhko meri ruswai ne
[Only I could populate the land of reproaches
Because made me able to do so because of my forbearance of rebukes in love]
Apni fitrat se alag baat kahi usne suhail
mujhko gulzaar kiya hai meri tanhai ne
[My sweetheart expressed something against nature
Thus made me garden of flowers, my solitary confinement]
